Website Terms of Use
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of bolden.world and the content made available on it. They are written to be read, not merely displayed. By using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information, and any separate terms that govern specific services, such as event registrations, memberships, sponsorships, or publishing arrangements.
2. Who operates the website
The website is operated by:
Bolden Group (Pty) Ltd Plot 3066, Extension 11, Gaborone, Botswana P O Box 26382, Gaborone, Botswana Email: mail@bolden.world
Bolden develops and operates publishing platforms, professional convenings, trusted networks, and related professional services across Africa and internationally. References to “Bolden”, “we”, “us”, and “our” in these terms refer to Bolden Group (Pty) Ltd.
3. Acceptance of the terms
By accessing or using the website, you confirm that you accept these terms and agree to comply with them. If you use the website on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. We may update these terms from time to time, as described in section 18.
4. Using the website
You may use the website for lawful purposes and for your own personal or internal business purposes. You may view, download, and print content from the website for these purposes, provided you keep all copyright and other proprietary notices intact. You may not use the website in any way that damages it, impairs its availability, or interferes with anyone else’s use of it.
5. Intellectual property
The website and everything on it, including text, editorial features, publications, photographs, illustrations, designs, logos, wordmarks, page layouts, and underlying code, are owned by or licensed to Bolden and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
The names, marks, and identities of Bolden and its publishing titles, convening platforms, and programmes, including the Bolden name and wordmark, are protected intellectual property of Bolden. Nothing on the website grants you any licence or right to use any Bolden name, mark, or brand asset without our prior written permission.
6. Content and editorial materials
Bolden produces publications, profiles, and editorial features. Publication profiles, images, and editorial material appearing on the website may not be reproduced, republished, or redistributed without our prior written permission, except for brief quotations with proper attribution for review or reporting purposes.
If you are featured in a Bolden publication and would like to use your own profile or feature for personal or professional purposes, contact us at mail@bolden.world. We are usually glad to assist, and we prefer to be asked.
7. Applications, nominations, and enquiries
The website may allow you to make enquiries, submit applications, nominate individuals or organisations, or express interest in Bolden’s publications, convenings, programmes, or the Bolden Network.
Submitting an application, nomination, or enquiry does not guarantee acceptance, selection, publication, or membership. Appearing on the website, or being nominated by others, likewise does not guarantee selection for any publication, programme, or the Bolden Network. Selection decisions rest with Bolden and, where applicable, its editorial and selection bodies, and are made at their discretion.
8. Events, publications, and membership
Information on the website about events, publications, programmes, and membership is provided for general information. Participation in any of these is governed by its own separate terms, such as event terms and conditions, membership terms, sponsorship agreements, or publishing agreements.
Nothing on the website creates a partnership, agency, membership, or contractual relationship between you and Bolden unless a separate written agreement says so. Invitations, memberships, sponsorships, licences, and publishing arrangements are governed by their own terms, which prevail over these terms in the event of any inconsistency relating to those services.
9. User submissions
Where you submit material to us through the website, such as nomination details,
biographical information, photographs, or editorial content, you confirm that you have the
right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
You retain ownership of material you submit. By submitting it, you grant Bolden a nonexclusive licence to use it for the purpose for which it was submitted, for example to
consider a nomination, produce an editorial feature, or administer an application. Where we
intend to publish submitted material, we will do so with your knowledge, as described in our
Privacy Policy.
We are not obliged to use, publish, or return submitted material.
10. Third-party websites
The website may contain links to third-party websites and platforms, including social media.
These links are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party websites and are
not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Linking to a website does not
imply endorsement.
11. No professional advice
Content on the website is provided for general information. It does not constitute
professional, legal, financial, or investment advice, and should not be relied upon as such.
You should obtain appropriate professional advice before acting on any information found
on the website.
12. Website availability and accuracy
We take care to keep the website accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will
always be error-free, uninterrupted, or up to date. Content may be changed, corrected, or
withdrawn at any time without notice. We may suspend or restrict access to the website, or
parts of it, for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.
13. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Copy, scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or data from the website,
whether manually or by automated means, without our prior written permission
- Republish, sell, or commercially exploit website content
- Use the website to transmit unlawful, defamatory, or harmful material
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers, or any connected
systems
- Introduce viruses or other malicious code
- Use the website or its content to train artificial intelligence models or automated
systems without our prior written permission
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the website or submitting material
- Use the website in any way that breaches applicable law
14. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited
under applicable law.
Subject to that, the website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available”
basis. To the extent permitted by law, Bolden will not be liable for loss or damage arising
from your use of, or inability to use, the website or its content, including indirect or
consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data. This does not affect any rights you have
under separate written agreements with Bolden or under laws that apply to you as a
consumer.
15. Indemnity
If your breach of these terms causes loss to Bolden, including claims made against us by
third parties arising from material you submitted or your misuse of the website, you agree tocompensate us for reasonably foreseeable losses arising from that breach.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the website, or any part of it, if you breach
these terms or if we reasonably consider it necessary to protect the website, our content, or
other users. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination,
including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law, will continue to apply.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana, and the courts of
Botswana have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the
website. This does not deprive you of any protection you are entitled to under the
mandatory laws of the country in which you live.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as Bolden grows. The current version will
always be available at bolden.world, with the effective date shown at the top. Your
